Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Makoto Nagano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masato Takaya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Masato Takaya is staring across the ring at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Makoto Nagano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masato Takaya!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takaya avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Takaya connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Takaya fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Takaya drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Takaya is rocked!

Takaya feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Nagano utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Nagano had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Takaya is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nagano Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Takaya's back instead.
Takaya has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Some bone on bone action there as Takaya checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Nagano throws a head kick but Takaya moves out of range.

No joy there for Takaya, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Takaya counters with a three punch combo that has Nagano backing up. Nagano nods at Takaya to acknowledge the strikes.
Takaya swings for the body but Nagano moves out of range.
Nagano shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Takaya as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Makoto Nagano. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Nagano catches Takaya with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Takaya will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Nagano lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Nagano.
Takaya takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Takaya misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nagano tries to close the distance and clinch up but Takaya swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Takaya fails with the takedown.
Nagano connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Takaya momentarily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Takaya stuffs the takedown attempt from Nagano. Nagano gets slowly back to his feet.

Takaya is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Nagano.

Takaya is trying to trip Nagano. He has hold of a leg but Nagano is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Takaya persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Takaya is looking to slow Nagano down with leg kicks.
Nagano's corner calls for a 1-2. Nagano obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
