Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ian Logan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramsey Hidjen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ian Logan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ramsey Hidjen!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Logan avoids the head kick by Hidjen.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Logan.
Hidjen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Logan shoots in for a double leg but Hidjen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hidjen tries to clinch but fails miserably
enabling Logan to counter with a crisp jab.
A jab from Hidjen misses.
Hidjen is looking to clinch.
Logan takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Logan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hidjen at a distance.
Hidjen closes the distance looking to clinch

and Logan moves into the clinch.
Logan wants a takedown but no success here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Logan scores with a knee to the head.

Logan lands a takedown into guard.
Hidjen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Logan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Logan scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Logan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Logan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Logan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Logan postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Hidjen to stand up.
Logan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hidjen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Logan somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ian Logan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Logan closes the distance and pushes Hidjen back into the cage.
Hidjen looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Hidjen is trying to break the clinch but Logan has him pressed against the cage.

Logan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Logan gets the takedown into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Logan remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The strikes coming from Logan are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Hidjen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Logan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Logan stands up and beckons Hidjen to his feet.

Logan gets the takedown into side control.

Logan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Logan in side control, just content to control the action for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Logan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hidjen for as long as he can get away with.
Hidjen dodges the ground and pound from Logan.

Logan has hold of Hidjen's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hidjen tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Logan cranks the arm and Hidjen screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hidjen, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Ian Logan!
Ian Logan seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
