The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boner misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and East decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Boner's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Boner wants to sweep but no luck.
East throwing strikes from guard but Boner blocks nicely.
East stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boner swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
East connects with a couple of short punches.

East won't allow Boner to get back to his feet.

East throws a strike but Boner rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Boner is looking to work some ground and pound but East has wrist control.
Boner stops East from standing up.
East is trying to keep Boner in close.
Boner slips nicely into half guard.
East is trying to stand back up but Boner is controlling him
East is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
East avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Boner.
Boner thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
East blocking the ground and pound attempt from Boner.
Boner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Boner takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Boner looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks East with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

East is looking to control Boner's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can East avoid being mounted?
East really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

East pushes Boner off looking to stand but Boner dives back in and keeps control.

East takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Boner's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
