Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kimbo Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kimbo Slice is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kimbo Slice!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Mir.
Mir listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Slice gets a double leg takedown into Mir's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Mir wants to get back to his feet but Slice is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Slice controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Slice stopping the sweep attempt from Mir.
Slice is looking to stand up but Mir won't let him.
Mir is looking to stand up but Slice isn't so interested in that idea.
Slice advances to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slice performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Mir wants to get back to his feet.
Slice slips a nice elbow through Mir's hands, connecting with Mir's forehead.
Slice throwing shots but Mir is blocking nicely.
Slice missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Slice tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Mir.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Slice thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Slice stops Mir from getting back to his feet.
Slice missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Slice lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Slice wants to free his trapped foot but Mir is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Slice has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mir is not content to let Slice control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Slice not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Slice stops Mir from getting back to his feet.

Slice is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Slice is nestled in close to Mir, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mir is trying to stand.
Slice controlling the action here.
Slice is trying to control the action in half guard but Mir is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Slice wants to stand up but Mir is controlling the position.
Mir is trying to control but can't.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mir keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Mir knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Slice on the ground.
Slice trying to control the action but Mir is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kimbo Slice dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Slice blocks a head kick by Mir.
Slice throws a jab when Mir was well out of range.
Slice throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Slice throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mir connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Slice falls off balance throwing a combination
and Slice takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mir throws a sloppy head kick and Slice moves out of range easily.
Mir circles away from the clinch attempt.
Slice shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mir pinned against the cage. Mir gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mir jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mir keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Frank Mir is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Slice is breathing heavily.
Mir circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mir lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Slice misses with the combination.
Slice tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Slice blocks a head kick by Mir.
Mir stalks Slice and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Slice's face. Slice staggers backwards, shaken.
Mir throws a series of punches but Slice moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Slice looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Slice is looking to clinch.
Slice fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mir avoids it really well and circles away.
Frank Mir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kimbo Slice.
Slice has a takedown stuffed.
Mir lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Slice walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Mir misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Slice tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mir paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Slice gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mir cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Slice drives through and clinches with Mir against the cage.
Mir tries to break free but Slice pushes him back against the cage.
Mir jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Slice walks away with a smile on his face. Mir gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Slice pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mir closes the distance and clinches up with Slice, looking for a takedown. Mir pushes Slice against the cage but Slice circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Frank Mir is winning the standup battle so far.
Slice changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mir tries to avoid it but Slice manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mir to the ground. Mir escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mir misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Slice takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Slice shoots and misses
and Mir counters with a head kick. That will keep Slice thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Slice misses with a double jab
and Mir counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Mir.
Mir misses with the ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Slice is looking to regain half guard here but Mir keeps moving and retains side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Mir dominated that second round.
That's time! Mir's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Mir connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Slice looks to land a right hand but Mir moved out of range.
Nice sprawl there from Slice as Mir shoots in.
Slice fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Mir connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Slice shoots in but Mir avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Slice walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Slice tries to clinch up but Mir circles away and keeps his distance.

Mir scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Slice takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slice wants to get back to full guard.
Slice is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Mir wants to get back to his feet.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Slice looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Slice trying to control here.
Slice is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Slice forces Mir back against the cage and clinches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mir blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Slice is stalling here.
Slice is trying to pull guard but Mir has him pressed against the cage.
Frank Mir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kimbo Slice.
A short left from Slice.
Mir tries to pull guard but Slice forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Slice tightens his grip and picks Mir up, before dumping him to the ground. Mir manages to land in guard.
Slice trying to control the position from guard on top but Mir is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mir is looking to stand up but Slice isn't so interested in that idea.
Slice wants to stand but Mir is controlling his posture from full guard.
Slice with a flurry of punches that miss.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mir looking to control.
Mir looking to hit a scissor sweep but Slice is one step ahead there.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Kimbo Slice.
I think Slice has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Kimbo Slice misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
