PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chance Larocque (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vox Populi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vox Populi!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Populi fails with a takedown attempt.
Populi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Populi slips a jab and a cross from Larocque.
Larocque throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Populi's head.

It looks like Vox Populi has been cut.
Populi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Larocque defends it nicely.
Chance Larocque has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vox Populi.
Larocque shoots for a double leg takedown but Populi sprawls well. He's pushed Larocque's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Populi enables Larocque to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Populi manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Populi is striking from the bottom but Larocque uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Larocque passes the guard and advances to mount!

Populi tries to improve his position but Larocque has taken his back! Larocque has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Populi tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Larocque pushes Populi away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Chance Larocque!
A very excited looking Chance Larocque rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
