Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Coulter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Coulter wants to clinch.
Phoenix blocks a head kick by Coulter.
Phoenix cracks Coulter with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Nice shot lands for Phoenix .
Coulter takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Coulter tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Phoenix looks to throw the jab but Coulter is out of range.
Coulter fails with a takedown attempt.
Coulter shoots in for a takedown but Phoenix shows good takedown defense.

Phoenix fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Coulter, pushing him back against the cage.
Coulter wants to take the fight to the mat but Phoenix manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Coulter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Phoenix lands a shoulder strike.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Phoenix escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Horrible takedown by Coulter or perhaps it was just good defense by Phoenix which made him look bad.
Phoenix fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Coulter manages to avoid it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Phoenix tries to bum rush Coulter with a series of wild strikes but Coulter uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Coulter fails with an attempt to clinch.
Phoenix jabs at Coulter's body.
Coulter lands a two punch combo.

Phoenix clinches.
Coulter wants to break free but Phoenix has control.
Phoenix working hard to break the clinch.
Coulter goes for a takedown attempt but Phoenix pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Phoenix lands a head shot.
Coulter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Phoenix digs a good body shot into Coulter's ribs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Coulter is defended easily by Phoenix .

Phoenix lands a left and a right that send Coulter crashing to the mat, dazed. Phoenix thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Thomas Coulter has been cut.

Coulter fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Coulter. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
OH! Coulter has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Phoenix smells blood and charges in for the finish! Phoenix unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Coulter sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
