Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Da Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Igor Pavlinsky!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pavlinsky moves into the clinch successfully.

Pavlinsky gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Pavlinsky should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Pavlinsky controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Da Silva is looking for a triangle but Pavlinsky pushes his legs off easily.

Pavlinsky must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Pavlinsky slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Pavlinsky really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Da Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pavlinsky wants to get up but he can't break Da Silva's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Pavlinsky seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pavlinsky got a little sloppy there for a moment and Da Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pavlinsky has managed to get both his arms back between Da Silva's legs - danger averted.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Da Silva is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pavlinsky is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pavlinsky has escaped and now he's on top!
Da Silva lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pavlinsky!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Da Silva moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Pavlinsky has worked his arm free - good work by Pavlinsky!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pavlinsky moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Da Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Da Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Da Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pavlinsky swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A close second round but Igor Pavlinsky will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Pavlinsky tightens his grip and picks Da Silva up, before dumping him to the ground. Da Silva manages to land in guard.
Pavlinsky lands a couple of elbows.

Pavlinsky looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Igor Pavlinsky hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Well Pavlinsky has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
