PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Simon Fry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jani Tor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fry comes to the ring accompanied by Killing in the name - rage against the machine. Tor has chosen Pirkka First Choice Cola - as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Simon Fry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jani Tor!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fry throws a quick inside leg kick.
Fry tries to move into range but Tor moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Tor throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tor lands with a right, followed by a left to the temple and Fry goes down! The ref sends Tor to a neutral corner so he can begin the count. 3,4,5,6 and Fry is back to his feet. He seems a little groggy but the referee thinks he's OK to continue, so we're back to the action!
It looks like Simon Fry has been cut.
Jani Tor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tor avoids the head kick by Fry.
Tor scores with a crisp jab that stopped Fry in his tracks.
Fry is rocked!
Tor closes the distance and lands a lead uppercut that stumbles Fry back against the ropes! Tor follows up with a jab and a huge straight right that knocks Fry out cold! What a finish! Tor looks absolutely delighted, as he should do! Congratulations that man!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jani Tor!
Jani Tor spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
