And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Halik!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Van Eyck has taken the fight to the clinch.
Van Eyck managing to block the knees to the body from Halik.

Van Eyck is looking to take this one to the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Van Eyck had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Halik defends it easily.

Halik drops back, looking for a kneebar! Van Eyck looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Van Eyck looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Van Eyck!

Van Eyck wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Halik, who protects the arm well.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We're going to have a standup here because Parker Van Eyck wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
The fight stays on the outside here - Halik looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Van Eyck gets control of Halik's arms and successfully pulls guard. Van Eyck will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Van Eyck goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Halik has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Van Eyck but great work by Halik.

Halik working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Parker Van Eyck overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Halik tries to stand but Van Eyck is controlling his head.
Van Eyck is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Halik thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Halik pushes Van Eyck away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Van Eyck gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Van Eyck is putting a hurting on Halik here, landing some big shots from side control.

Van Eyck has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Halik is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Van Eyck yanks on the arm and Halik is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Van Eyck.
