The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jorge swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Alves on the wrong end of a nice jab.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alves makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Alves.
Jorge tries to free his leg and advance position but Alves is retaining full guard.
Alves is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jorge lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Alves circles away quickly and effectively.
Jorge tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Alves was well out of range. Poor timing from Jorge.
Jorge cracks Alves with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Jorge lands a hook that stumbles Alves back into the cage. Jorge follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Alves to the canvas! Jorge pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Alves has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
