Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between klas jenny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathew Swoop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think jenny might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to august bruns red - meddler. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Swoop darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
jenny moves into full guard.

jenny is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
jenny manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Swoop regains half guard.
Swoop has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. jenny is working away from the top position though.
Swoop is pressing down on jenny's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

jenny is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
jenny misses with a jab, cross combination.

Swoop shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Swoop is pushing down on jenny's leg trying to pass to half guard. jenny is fighting to maintain full guard but Swoop has managed to sneak the leg through.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
jenny is staying active underneath Swoop, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Swoop thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Swoop shoots in looking for a takedown. jenny tries to sprawl out of it but Swoop keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. jenny manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Swoop clinches.
Swoop tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. jenny smiles and moves away.
jenny misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Swoop shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and jenny cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
klas jenny has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mathew Swoop.
