PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Digol Bick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tytus Pullo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bick comes into the arena with Dissection - Thorns of Crimson Death blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Paul Gruel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bick shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pullo as he avoids it easily.
Pullo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bick throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pullo's waist but Pullo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bick off to one side.
Pullo leaves Bick with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Digol Bick. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bick shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pullo sprawls well. Pullo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bick gets slowly back to his feet.

Bick looking to score a takedown here. Pullo is defending well but Bick drives through and ends up in Pullo's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Bick throws an elbow that misses. Pullo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bick's guard. Nice move by Pullo!

Pullo is working Bick over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bick holds on and takes a little breather.
Bick looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pullo is one step ahead there.

Bick throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Bick looking for a sweep. Not yet Bick, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pullo wants to control from the top but Bick keeps moving.
Bick on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bick tries to get out of the position.
Pullo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bick fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pullo sprawls well initially but Bick persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bick looks to land a strike but Pullo avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Bick with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Bick postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pullo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bick can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Pullo has his foot on Bick's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bick works his way back into a safe position though.
Bick keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pullo's head.

Bick throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pullo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Bick chips away with some ground and pound.
Bick with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bick accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Bick trying to control the position from guard on top but Pullo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bick postures up in Pullo's guard and throws a big left but Pullo blocks it.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bick's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bick chips away with some ground and pound.
Bick cracks Pullo with a solid left hand.
Bick is looking to work some ground and pound but Pullo has wrist control.

Bick with a flurry of punches that miss.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bick keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pullo's head.
Bick with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Bick chips away with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Digol Bick dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Bick gets a double leg takedown into Pullo's guard.
Bick throws a strike but Pullo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Bick looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Bick avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pullo lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Digol Bick overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Pullo is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Pullo won't allow Bick to sweep him here.
Bick lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pullo!

Pullo is trying desperately to improve position.
Pullo is bucking up trying to escape but Bick cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Bick cracks Pullo with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Pullo takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Pullo is rocked!
Bick postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pullo looks a forlorn figure.
Pullo is still in real trouble! Can Bick finish him?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bick lands a big shot to the head and Pullo winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
