The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Kawike or perhaps it was just good defense by sindberg which made him look bad.
sindberg has his takedown stuffed

so Kawike counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kawike wants to control from the top but sindberg keeps moving.
Kawike throwing strikes from guard but sindberg blocks nicely.
sindberg is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kawike controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Kawike is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Kawike is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, sindberg has managed to free his arm - good work.
Still in half guard, Kawike seems content to control.
sindberg slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kawike slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

sindberg has his foot on Kawike's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kawike works his way back into a safe position though.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kawike's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Kawike makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Kawike wants to control from the top but sindberg keeps moving.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kawike accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kawike looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Kawike is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. sindberg is trying to escape and Kawike transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and sindberg is forced to tap! Nice work there by Kawike! Very nice indeed!
