Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sergio Vega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bonald Scott!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vega missing with a left hand there. Scott was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Scott fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Vega is out of range.
Scott throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Vega. No joy for Scott on that attempt.
Scott misses with a takedown
and Vega counters with a straight right hand.
Scott with a poor takedown
and Vega cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sergio Vega has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bonald Scott.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Vega checks a leg kick.
Vega throws a series of strikes that have Scott backpedaling.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scott takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Vega avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Scott is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Scott.
Scott shoots for a double leg takedown but Vega sprawls well. He's pushed Scott's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Scott misses with a takedown attempt - Vega sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Vega counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Scott looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Vega throws a hook but Scott blocks it.

Scott gets caught napping as Vega dives in and scores a takedown. Scott manages to retain guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Vega trying to control but Scott is working from the bottom.

Scott has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Vega should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Scott has tightened it up now! Vega should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Bonald Scott!
