Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Roach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evil Ryu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bobby Roach has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bobby Roach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Evil Ryu!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roach misses with an uppercut. Ryu saw that one coming.
Roach throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Ryu counters with a shoot takedown. Roach fights it but they end up in guard.
Ryu tries to stand but Roach is controlling from the bottom.

Ryu got a little sloppy there for a moment and Roach has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ryu has managed to get both his arms back between Roach's legs - danger averted.
Roach is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Roach looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ryu is one step ahead there.
Roach not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ryu must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ryu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Ryu counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Ryu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Roach. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bobby Roach wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Roach shoots for a takedown but Ryu saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bobby Roach seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ryu buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Roach jumps guard but Ryu turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.

Ryu unloads a knee to the mid-section. Roach lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Ryu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Roach is defended easily by Ryu.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ryu lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Roach or not.

Ryu breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Evil Ryu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ryu avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ryu tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Roach manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Roach loads up on a big right hand but Ryu slips the punch.
Ryu throws a combination. Roach tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Roach connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ryu momentarily.
Ryu is looking to clinch but Roach is avoiding it.
Ryu displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Roach.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Ryu throws a head kick that misses.
Ryu stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ryu wants it to stay on the feet.
Ryu wants to clinch.
Ryu throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Ryu tries to clinch up but Roach circles away and keeps his distance.

and Ryu counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Roach controls Ryu momentarily but Ryu frees himself.

Roach is trying to maintain the position but Ryu is very close to passing his half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Roach tries to get to full guard but Ryu has control of the leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Evil Ryu dominated that round.
That's time! Roach's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Roach misses with a double jab.
Roach slips a jab and a cross from Ryu.
Ryu wants to clinch up but Roach keeps it at a distance.
Roach shoots for a double leg takedown but Ryu sprawls well. He's pushed Roach's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ryu steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Roach.
Roach is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Ryu.
Ryu stuffs the takedown.
Ryu leaves Roach with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ryu is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Roach circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ryu just misses with a punch to the body.

Roach fails with a takedown attempt.
Roach misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Ryu clinches.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Ryu.
Ryu misses with a knee strike.
Roach jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ryu walks away with a smile on his face. Roach gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Roach avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Roach throws a series of punches but Ryu avoids them all with ease.

Ryu is looking to clinch.
Ryu stuffs the takedown attempt from Roach. Roach gets slowly back to his feet.

Roach swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Roach avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Roach throws a lazy uppercut

so Ryu counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Roach has his foot on Ryu's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ryu works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Roach is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ryu is aware though and is defending well.

Roach had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ryu defends it easily.

Ryu stands up and waves to Roach to follow him.

Roach shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ryu but Ryu pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Roach throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ryu's waist but Ryu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roach off to one side.

Ryu tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Roach manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Roach tries to pull guard but Ryu forces him back to his feet, against the ropes.
Roach jumps guard but Ryu stands there with Roach around his waist. Roach gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Roach is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

so Ryu counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Roach looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Roach has control of Ryu's left arm, preventing Ryu from doing any damage.
Roach bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ryu's guard.

Roach won't allow Ryu to get back to his feet.
Bobby Roach has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Roach throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ryu utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Roach trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Roach drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ryu looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ryu looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ryu!
Roach is looking to reverse the position.

A control attempt from Roach but he's now mounted!
Ryu tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
Ryu is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Roach is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ryu blocks Roach's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Evil Ryu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ryu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Evil Ryu tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
