PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Devils Reaper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Wait (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wait has chosen Danger Zone as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Devils Reaper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Danny Wait!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reaper moves away from the strike by Wait.
Wait ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Reaper fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Wait to the ground. Reaper is now in Wait's guard.

Wait really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reaper. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Reaper postures up in Wait's guard and throws a big left but Wait blocks it.

Devils Reaper has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Wait swings widly with a right hand
and Reaper counters with a series of strikes. Wait will be more careful next time no doubt.
Danny Wait is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Reaper counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Wait tries to clinch but Reaper moves out of range.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
