Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Philip Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Philip Phillips!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chuck Norris!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norris cracks Phillips with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Norris connects with a single shot there.
Phillips throws a series of punches but Norris moves out of range.
Norris throws a sloppy head kick and Phillips moves out of range easily.
Norris misses with a few strikes there.
Phillips goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Norris swings for the body but Phillips moves out of range.
Norris lands a front kick.
Nice shot lands for Phillips.
Phillips misses with a double jab.
Norris lands a nice leg kick that just misses Phillips's sensitive parts.
Phillips looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Norris is fending him off so far but Phillips persists. Nope, Norris circles away and we're back to standing.
Norris ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Phillips moves away.
Norris looks to score with a jab to the body but Phillips is just out of range.
Norris throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

and Phillips counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Phillips closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Phillips lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Norris is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Phillips defends well.

Norris working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Phillips doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Phillips manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Norris had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Phillips defends it easily.

Norris has his foot on Phillips's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Phillips works his way back into a safe position though.

Norris escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Phillips gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Phillips decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Phillips misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Phillips tries to score a power double leg takedown but Norris sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Phillips somewhat.
Norris lands with a slapping head kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Phillips lands with a shot to the body.
Norris swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Norris throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Phillips slips a jab and a cross from Norris.
Phillips chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Norris can pounce on him.
Phillips throws a right and a left that Norris avoids nicely.

Phillips avoids a kick to the body.

Norris throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Phillips moves into range and connects with a jab.

Phillips lands with a thumping leg kick.
Phillips lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Norris at a distance.
Phillips fails to land with a series of punches.
Phillips misses with a wild combination.
Norris scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Phillips throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Norris misses with a jab, cross combination.
Norris pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Norris takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Phillips looks to land a combination. Norris sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Norris tests Phillips's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Phillips throws a series of punches but Norris avoids them all with ease.
Norris is looking to land body kicks.
No joy there for Norris, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Norris enables Phillips to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Norris manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Phillips feints and as Norris raises his hands in defense, Phillips changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Norris has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Phillips can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Norris is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Phillips defends well.

Phillips got a little sloppy there for a moment and Norris has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Phillips has managed to get both his arms back between Norris's legs - danger averted.
