Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Richard Burger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hannu Haavisto!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Haavisto.
Haavisto catches Burger with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
A big right from Haavisto misses.
Haavisto swats away the attempt to clinch by Burger.
Burger tries to clinch up
and Haavisto connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Burger takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Burger closes the distance looking to clinch
letting Haavisto counter with a right hand.
Haavisto swats away the attempt to clinch by Burger.
Burger tries to clinch but Haavisto is having none of it.
Burger wants to clinch but Haavisto slips to the side
and Haavisto counters with a straight right hand.
Haavisto lands a big uppercut and Burger crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Burger looks OK. Haavisto waves Burger back to his feet!
Burger switches off momentarily and Haavisto cracks him with a monster right hand! Burger topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Haavisto dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Haavisto!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hannu Haavisto!
