The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tompson tries to close the distance and clinch but Messer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tompson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Messer wants to clinch up but Tompson keeps it at a distance.

Tompson tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Messer is looking to take this one to the mat.
Messer has Tompson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Tompson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Tompson is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Messer has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Tompson is looking to defend but Messer has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Tompson! Messer pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Tompson taps out and this one is all over!
