The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sparks looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Sparks darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Sparks is looking for a kimura but Rasmussen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sparks to get the leverage.
Sparks perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rasmussen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Sparks looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rasmussen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Rasmussen is looking to get back to full guard here but Sparks has managed to pass to side control instead.

Sparks is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Rasmussen is trying to escape and Sparks transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Rasmussen is forced to tap! Nice work there by Sparks! Very nice indeed!
