Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Unkind Artist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alvin Joiner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Artist comes to the cage accompanied by Dropkick Murphys - Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya. Joiner is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Whats the Difference. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Eddie Farnsworth and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joiner is looking to clinch but Artist is avoiding it.
Artist throws a leg kick but Joiner sees it coming and moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Joiner is defended easily by Artist.
Joiner avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Joiner has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Joiner there as he acknowledges the shot.
Joiner throws the kick towards the body but Artist avoids it.
Joiner looks to land a left hand but Artist moved out of range nicely.
Joiner keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Artist ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Joiner moves away.
Artist throws a looping overhand right but Joiner ducks down to avoid it.
Artist fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Joiner manages to avoid it.
Joiner shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Artist pinned against the cage. Artist gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Joiner tries to close the distance and clinch but Artist swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jab, jab by Artist - just one landing.
Artist tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Joiner manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A punch lands to the side of Joiner 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Joiner throws a head kick that misses.

Joiner shoots in looking for a takedown but Artist manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Joiner's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Unkind Artist has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alvin Joiner.
Nice takedown defense from Artist. No joy for Joiner on that attempt.
Joiner jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Joiner fails with the takedown.
Joiner shoots in for a takedown but Artist shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Joiner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Artist is not content to let Joiner control the position.

Artist manages to work his way to half guard, despite Joiner's best efforts.
Joiner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Artist tries to roll over but Joiner keeps him under control.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Joiner lands a nice short elbow.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Artist scores with a jab to the jaw.

It looks like Alvin Joiner has been cut.

Joiner has taken the fight to the clinch.

Artist misses with a hook to the ribs.
Joiner blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Joiner is working for takedown but Artist is calmly controlling the position for now.
Joiner has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Artist after a bit of a struggle.
Joiner tries to score a body lock takedown but Artist shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Artist lands a knee to the head.

Artist gets through Joiner's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Artist has Joiner pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Joiner is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Artist - that's hurt Joiner badly! Oh, another knee lands and Joiner is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Joiner doesn't seem to be complaining.
