The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vores wants to land a leg kick but Jackson is out of range.

Vores closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jackson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Vores's best efforts.
Jackson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jackson.

Jackson is looking for a triangle here but Vores uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Vores with a couple of short strikes.
Vores is landing with some decent strikes but Jackson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Jackson tries to reverse the position but Vores maintains control.
Vores cracks Jackson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vores postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jackson looks a forlorn figure.
Jackson is still in real trouble! Can Vores finish him?
Jackson is desperately trying to improve his position but Vores has a good base and remains in mount.
The referee warns Jackson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Jackson is in all sorts of trouble here.
Vores can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jackson is looking to escape.
Jackson seems to have recovered his senses.

Vores working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Jackson looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Vores! Submission of the night perhaps?
