The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verlander moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Josh William has been cut.
Verlander keeps the fight on the outside.
Verlander misses with the combination.
William swats away the attempt to clinch by Verlander.
Verlander blocks a head kick by William.
William scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
William decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
William drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
William tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no William has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Verlander is trying to control William's posture but William avoids it.
William is working to tighten is grip on Verlander's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Verlander has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but William is really squeezing tight and eventually Verlander passes out! William breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
