The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabonis is looking to land body kicks.
Sankari misses with a kick to the body
and Sabonis moves into the clinch.
Sankari lands a shoulder strike.
Sankari has Sabonis pressed against the cage.
Sankari throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Sabonis blocks it with crossed arms.
Sankari can't find room to land a body shot as Sabonis controls the action.
Sabonis tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sankari's elbow.
Sankari looking to slow down the pace here.
Sankari doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Sankari manages to break the clinch.
Sabonis uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sankari.
Arvydas Sabonis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sankari looks to land a right hand but Sabonis moved out of range.

and Sabonis counters with a leg kick.
Sabonis scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

and Sankari counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Sabonis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sabonis is looking to clinch but Sankari is avoiding it.
Sankari's corner calls for a 1-2. Sankari obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sabonis blocks a head kick by Sankari.
Sankari throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sabonis lands a really nice looking cross but Sankari seems unphased.
Sabonis scores with a leg kick.
Sabonis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sankari throws a push kick but Sabonis slaps the foot to one side.
Sabonis closes the distance looking to clinch
and Sankari counters with a nice kick to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sabonis bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sankari's head backwards.
That has opened up Nyrkki Sankari's cut even more.
Sabonis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sankari.
Sankari throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
and Sabonis counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Sankari! He's just covering up as Sabonis starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
