The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gibbons is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Ferrari to keep the fight standing.
Gibbons wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Ferrari tries a knee to the head but Gibbons blocks it.
Gibbons has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ferrari is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gibbons pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ferrari tries to land a front kick but Gibbons steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ferrari moves in looking to clinch but Gibbons pushes him off.

Gibbons darts in and clinches Ferrari up against the cage.

Ferrari tries to land a knee to the head but Gibbons blocks with his arms.
Ferrari tries to throw a body punch but Gibbons avoids it by throwing Ferrari back against the cage.
Ferrari has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head that stumbles Gibbons - he's in trouble! Another big knee to the head from Ferrari, and another! Gibbons is out on his feet - the ref jumps in to save him and ends the fight!
