PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Adamsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Russo comes into the arena with Volbeat - The Human Instrument blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vinny Russo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Adamsky!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adamsky blocks a low kick nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Russo. Adamsky does a little dance to reset his feet.
Adamsky fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Russo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Adamsky pivots, looking for a leg kick but Russo is out of range and Adamsky settles back down.
Russo jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Adamsky motions for Russo to come forward. Adamsky throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Russo scores with a kick to the midsection.

Adamsky lands with a shot to the body.
Adamsky keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Adamsky makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Adamsky closes the distance and pushes Russo back into the cage.
Adamsky lands a hook that snaps the head of Russo backwards.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Adamsky is trying to break the clinch but Russo is controlling him.
Russo tries to land knees in the clinch but Adamsky avoids the damage to the body.
Russo throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Adamsky breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A nice leg kick lands there from Russo.
Adamsky looks to land a body kick but Russo moved away.
Russo misses with a wild body shot.
Adamsky takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Adamsky misses with a low kick.
Adamsky drops his hands momentarily and Russo takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Russo tries a low kick but Adamsky avoids it.
Russo is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Adamsky throws a wild body kick that Russo sees coming a mile off.
Russo throws a hook but Adamsky blocks it.
Adamsky looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Russo lands a nice hook to Adamsky's body. Adamsky takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Adamsky bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

and Adamsky takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Adamsky avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Russo tries to land a front kick but Adamsky steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Adamsky keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vinny Russo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Vinny Russo will probably get the nod.

Russo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Russo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Adamsky with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Russo wants to take a breather but Adamsky is having none of it.

Vinny Russo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Russo is just content to waste time from the top position. Adamsky takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Russo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Russo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Adamsky doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Adamsky manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Adamsky really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Russo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Russo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Russo is looking for a triangle here but Adamsky uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Russo bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Adamsky's head backwards.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Russo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
