PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Armos Saffedine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimbo Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Armos Saffedine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimbo Slice!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saffedine thows a body shot but no joy.

Saffedine scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Slice throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Saffedine thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Saffedine is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Saffedine will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Saffedine takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Saffedine has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slice is trying to control but can't.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Well, if Saffedine is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Armos Saffedine wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Saffedine slips a jab and a cross from Slice.

Saffedine gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Slice drops down looking for an ankle pick but Saffedine pulls his leg out and moves away.

No joy there for Slice, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Saffedine gets a takedown into half guard.
Slice is trying to stand up here but Saffedine is controlling him well.
Saffedine performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Slice is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slice flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Saffedine not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Slice is trying to maintain the position but Saffedine is very close to passing his half guard.
Saffedine is taking a breather. Slice says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Saffedine postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Slice to stand up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Horrible takedown by Slice or perhaps it was just good defense by Saffedine which made him look bad.

Saffedine drives through and clinches with Slice against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee is keeping an eye on Saffedine - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Saffedine decides to pull guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Saffedine doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Saffedine looking to hit a scissor sweep but Slice is one step ahead there.
Saffedine lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Slice!
Saffedine is landing with some decent strikes but Slice is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Slice sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Saffedine is thwarting Slice's attempts to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Saffedine is looking to advance position but Slice won't allow it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Slice trying to control here.
Saffedine not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Saffedine seems to be working for a kimura but Slice defends the submission attempt.
Saffedine controlling the pace.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Armos Saffedine dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Slice throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Slice throws a right and a left that Saffedine avoids nicely.
A punch combination from Saffedine misses.
Slice shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Saffedine pinned against the cage. Saffedine gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Saffedine counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Slice!
Saffedine lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Saffedine stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Saffedine closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Saffedine lands in his opponent's guard.
Saffedine is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Slice is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Saffedine dives into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Saffedine thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Slice tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Saffedine easily slips into full mount!
Saffedine looking to control and managing it successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Saffedine has hold of Slice's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Slice manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Armos Saffedine overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Slice tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Slice tries to control the position but Saffedine now has his back.
Saffedine controlling the position well here. Slice rolled but Saffedine kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Saffedine seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Slice for as long as he can get away with.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Slice wants to escape the position.

Saffedine is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Slice is tapping out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Armos Saffedine!
