Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Blake Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Axe comes to the cage accompanied by For Whom the Bell Tolls. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
20 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Blake Axe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roman Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Axe just misses with a punch to the body.
Axe paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Gracie walks into a jab.
Gracie shoots and misses
and Axe counters with a straight right hand.
Axe bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gracie's head.
A lazy left from Axe finds it's target.
Axe scores with a head kick. Gracie tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Axe's corner calls for a 1-2. Axe obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Nice shot by Axe.

Gracie shoots and misses
and Axe counters with a right hand to the body.
Axe lands a glancing blow to the side of Gracie's head.
Axe throws a head kick that half lands.
Axe bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Axe lands with a kick to the temple. Gracie shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Axe uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Axe catches Gracie with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

and Axe counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gracie's knee momentarily.

Axe is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Gracie walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Axe stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

and Axe makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

letting Axe counter with a right hand.

Gracie takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Gracie has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Blake Axe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Axe feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gracie's calf.
Axe swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Gracie.

Gracie moves forwards but Axe connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Gracie drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Blake Axe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie walks into a left hand.
Gracie has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Gracie there as he acknowledges the shot.

Axe fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gracie looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A decent looking cross lands there for Axe.
Gracie has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Axe finds it's way round the side to connect with Gracie's head.
Axe jabs Gracie to the body, keeping him at a distance.

and Axe counters with a leg kick.

Axe moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Axe moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Axe feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gracie's calf.
Roman Gracie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gracie shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

and Axe counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Axe connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gracie. Gracie circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

and Axe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Sloppy strikes from Axe. Those never looked like landing.

Axe lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Gracie doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Axe counters with a left to the body.
Axe shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gracie eats them both and turns towards Axe to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Blake Axe dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Axe is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Axe moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Gracie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Axe looks to land a right hand but Gracie moved out of range.
Gracie is still on wobbly legs! Can Axe finish him?
Gracie ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Axe throws a nice looking combination but Gracie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Axe jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A swing and a miss from Axe.
Axe throws a jab but it's blocked by Gracie.
Axe misses with an uppercut. Gracie saw that one coming.
Axe throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Gracie seems to have recovered his senses.
Axe connects with a leg kick. Gracie looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Axe throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Axe circles away easily
enabling Axe to counter with a crisp jab.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Gracie might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Axe has got the better of the exchanges.

Gracie takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Axe uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Gracie has time to react.
Gracie takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Gracie tries to move into range but Axe moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
A left and a right from Axe both land. Nice combination.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Axe.
Blake Axe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Gracie fails with the takedown
and Axe counters with a nice leg kick.
And that's the end of the fight!
Blake Axe showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Axe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
