PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cro Copout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Coalman Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Copout comes to the cage accompanied by you throw knee, i go home. Copout has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Copout as he avoids it easily.

Copout tries to keep at a distance but Gracie has taken the fight into the clinch.
Copout using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Copout has a couple of punches blocked by Gracie.

Gracie drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Gracie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Copout's guard.
Gracie takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gracie connects with a nice short shot to Copout's temple.
Copout is looking to improve his position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gracie tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Copout knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
Gracie lands with some strikes.
Copout holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Gracie tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Copout is desperately trying to improve his position but Gracie has a good base and remains in mount.
Poor strikes thrown by Gracie there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Gracie looking to control and managing it successfully.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie wants to finish this one by submission but Copout is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gracie.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coalman Gracie dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Copout uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Copout takes a swing at Gracie's ribcage but misses.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Copout sprawls well. Copout wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.

Gracie is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Copout to keep the fight standing.
Cro Copout has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Coalman Gracie.

Gracie has Copout pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Copout manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Gracie drives through and clinches with Copout against the cage.
Copout tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gracie avoids it.
