Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dominic Purcell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Prindle!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Purcell throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Prindle dives in and grabs Purcell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Purcell pushes down on Prindle's head and hops out.
Prindle scores with a nice head shot.

Purcell closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Prindle quickly recovers to half guard.
Purcell working the head and body with strikes.
Prindle tries to get to full guard but Purcell has control of the leg.
Prindle trying to control from the bottom.
Purcell not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Purcell looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Prindle holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Purcell trying to pass the guard but Prindle defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Purcell wants to stand up but Prindle has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Purcell scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Purcell lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Purcell scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Purcell sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Prindle defending well though.
Purcell missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Prindle is looking to control Purcell's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Prindle avoid being mounted?
Purcell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Prindle on the ground.
Purcell sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Prindle defending well though.
Purcell wants to get back to his feet.
Purcell is looking to take a break and control but Prindle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Purcell stands up from half guard.
Prindle shoots for a takedown but Purcell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Prindle shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Purcell napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Purcell is trying to get back to half guard.
Prindle wants to stand but Purcell has his arm trapped.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Purcell is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Prindle has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Purcell tries to buck Prindle off but Prindle is having none of it.

Prindle is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Purcell has escaped the position, nice work there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Purcell gets back to half guard.
Purcell is refusing to be controlled, as Prindle sits in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Prindle seems to be looking for submissions.
Prindle is looking to advance position but Purcell won't allow it.
Purcell is staying active underneath Prindle, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Purcell wants to control but Prindle is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Prindle is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Prindle seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Purcell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Purcell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Prindle is working away from the top position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Prindle maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Purcell could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Prindle has cracked it and Purcell is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Prindle!
