PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maksim Ivanski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iron Lung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Maksim Ivanski has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Maksim Ivanski seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lung feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ivanski's calf.
Ivanski gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Ivanski fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ivanski takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ivanski misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Ivanski shoots in and gets a takedown into Lung's guard.
Ivanski postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ivanski throws a big elbow that misses.

Lung had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ivanski defends it easily.
Ivanski postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Lung is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ivanski is controlling him.
Ivanski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lung swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lung is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Iron Lung wasn't active enough on the ground.
Lung stuffs the takedown.

Lung thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Ivanski if he has to take too many more of those.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lung lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ivanski has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ivanski and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Ivanski is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lung sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Ivanski shoots in but no luck this time.
Ivanski tries to clinch there but Lung circles away.
Ivanski closes the distance and clinches up with Lung, looking for a takedown. Ivanski pushes Lung against the cage but Lung circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lung lands a front kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Lung counters with a slapping leg kick.

Ivanski moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Ivanski on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lung. Lung obviously looking to wear him down.
Ivanski takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Lung tries to bum rush Ivanski with a series of wild strikes but Ivanski uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ivanski tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lung swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lung swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ivanski.
Lung throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Ivanski takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Lung! Ivanski is out on his feet! Lung rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Ivanski is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Ivanski is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Iron Lung!
