PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mateusz Powerowsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Powerowsky's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, HEMP GRU - W Hemp Armii. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mateusz Powerowsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pedro Silva!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Powerowsky swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Silva shoots for a takedown but Powerowsky saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Powerowsky shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense.

Silva drives through with a takedown into guard.

Powerowsky has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva prevents Powerowsky from getting back to his feet.
Powerowsky is breathing heavily.
Powerowsky keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.
Silva advances to half guard.

Silva is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Silva trying to control from half guard but Powerowsky is working away.
Powerowsky wants to get back to full guard.

Silva looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Powerowsky wants to get back to his feet.
Powerowsky wants to control but Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Silva thows a huge punch but Powerowsky dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Powerowsky is refusing to be controlled, as Silva sits in half guard.

Silva seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Powerowsky is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

In his post fight interview, Pedro Silva started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
