Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Merrimac Mjolnir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Hanks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mjolnir comes into the arena with Takida - Was It I? blaring out of the sound system. Hanks has chosen AC/DC - Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Mjolnir.
Mjolnir looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

It looks like Merrimac Mjolnir has been cut.
Mjolnir looks to score with a jab to the body but Hanks is just out of range.
Hanks takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Fred Hanks has been cut.
Mjolnir jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Mjolnir dodges the punch combination from Hanks.
Merrimac Mjolnir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mjolnir cracks Hanks with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Mjolnir is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hanks.

Hanks catches Mjolnir with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Mjolnir rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hanks moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Mjolnir throws a shot from downtown. Hanks moves away and avoids it.
Mjolnir moves in looking to clinch but Hanks pushes him off.

Hanks drives through and clinches with Mjolnir against the cage.
Mjolnir has Hanks pressed against the cage.
Mjolnir is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Hanks is defending well for now.

Mjolnir tries to work over Hanks's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
A frustrated look appears on Hanks's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Hanks on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Mjolnir breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hanks is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hanks has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Mjolnir.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mjolnir avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Mjolnir forces Hanks back against the cage and clinches.
Hanks is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Hanks continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Hanks has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mjolnir bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hanks's head backwards.

Mjolnir throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Hanks throws the left hand but Mjolnir avoids the punch easily.
Mjolnir scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

That has opened up Fred Hanks's cut even more.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hanks uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mjolnir.
Hanks tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mjolnir manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hanks breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A punch lands to the side of Hanks 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Fred Hanks's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Mjolnir tries to close the distance and clinch but Hanks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hanks takes one on the button.
Mjolnir is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Hanks has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Mjolnir.
Mjolnir cracks Hanks with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Fred Hanks's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
