The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Smith swats away the attempt to clinch by Publius.
Smith looks for a takedown but Publius sprawls well.
Smith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Publius stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Publius wants it to stay on the feet.
Smith avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Publius wants to clinch.
Smith rushes Publius and presses him up against the cage.
Publius with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Nathan Smith has been cut.
Smith looks winded!
Publius throws a knee to the head but misses.

Smith jumps guard but Publius stands there with Smith around his waist. Smith gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Publius pushes Smith against the cage. Publius is working some dirty boxing. Publius pushes off with a quick right hook! Smith goes down! Smith tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Publius moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

In his post fight interview, Terrence Publius started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
