The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Penn with that takedown attempt.
Hadierectus ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Penn drives through with a takedown into Hadierectus's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Penn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hadierectus works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Penn postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Penn passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Penn has hold of Hadierectus's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hadierectus tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Penn cranks the arm and Hadierectus screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hadierectus, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
