Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Elviks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pauly James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcus Elviks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pauly James!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elviks shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. James defends it nicely.
James shoots in looking for a takedown but Elviks manages to keep the fight standing, pushing James's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
James displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Elviks.
Elviks shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts James as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Elviks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Elviks dives in and grabs James's left leg, looking for a takedown. James pushes down on Elviks's head and hops out.
James is trying hard to land a takedown here. Elviks sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

James feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Elvikss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Elviks wants to clinch.
A head kick from Elviks lands but James takes it in his stride.
James shoots in but Elviks avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Elviks throws a jab when James was well out of range.
James stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and James wants it to stay on the feet.
Elviks goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Elviks is breathing heavily.

Elviks shoots in for a takedown but James shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Elviks gets a clinch.
Elviks is trying to drag James to the mat but James just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Elviks is trying to pull guard but James turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Elviks tries to pull guard but James holds him up against the cage and eventually Elviks drops back down to his feet.
James scores with a shot to the side of Elviks's head.
James can't find room to land a body shot as Elviks controls the action.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
James is looking to take this one to the mat.

James pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

James throws a series of punches but Elviks avoids them all with ease.

James moves into the clinch.
Elviks tries to work over James's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

James manages to pull guard.
Elviks throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

James has his foot on Elviks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Elviks works his way back into a safe position though.
James trying to keep a closed guard but Elviks is proving a slippery customer.
Elviks throws a big right hand that misses.

Elviks got a little sloppy there for a moment and James has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Elviks has managed to get both his arms back between James's legs - danger averted.
Elviks slips nicely into half guard.

Elviks has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
James tries to hold on but Elviks pushes him away.
Elviks controlling from the full mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Elviks thowing shots but they're missing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Elviks throws a chopping leg kick but James manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Elviks dives in and grabs James's left leg, looking for a takedown. James pushes down on Elviks's head and hops out.
James changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Elviks tries to avoid it but James manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Elviks to the ground. Elviks escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
James fails to land the takedown.
James leaves Elviks with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
James looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Marcus Elviks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pauly James.
James avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Elviks throws a hook but James blocks it.

Elviks is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Elviks tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Elviks swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Elviks stuffs the takedown.

James takes the fight into the clinch.
Elviks is trying to break the clinch but James is controlling him.

James pulls Elviks into guard.
Elviks won't allow James to sweep him here.
Elviks in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Elviks has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of James is proving hard to escape from.
Elviks trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

James pushes Elviks off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
James shoots in looking for a takedown. Elviks tries to sprawl out of it but James keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Elviks manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
James keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Elviks stuffs the takedown attempt from James. James gets slowly back to his feet.
Elviks turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Marcus Elviks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
James misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Elviks lands with a thumping leg kick.
A solid body kick from Elviks.
Elviks lands a nice shot that snaps James's head back.
Elviks shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as James sprawls well. James wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Elviks gets slowly back to his feet.

James pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Elviks tries to work over James's front leg with a kick but James checks it.

Elviks tries to close the distance and clinch but James swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
James is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
James shoots for a takedown but Elviks saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Elviks.
Elviks wants to clinch up but James keeps it at a distance.
Elviks misses with a double jab

and James holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
James using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Elviks has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Elviks is pushing James up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Elviks tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
James tries to pull guard but Elviks holds him up against the cage and eventually James drops back down to his feet.

Elviks tries to score a body lock takedown but James shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

James has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Elviks uses from the top position.

James working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Elviks doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Elviks manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marcus Elviks.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Elviks, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
