Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Erwin Schrodinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicolas Refn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Erwin Schrodinger could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Nicolas Refn's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Erwin Schrodinger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Nicolas Refn!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Refn tries to clinch but Schrodinger is having none of it.
Refn has a takedown stuffed.
Schrodinger throws a looping overhand right but Refn ducks down to avoid it.

Refn has managed to clinch.
Refn tries to throw a body punch but Schrodinger avoids it by throwing Refn back against the cage.
A right hand to the body from Schrodinger.
A frustrated look appears on Refn's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Schrodinger blocks an uppercut.
Refn gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Schrodinger.
Come on Refn - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Schrodinger goes for a takedown in the clinch but Refn prevents it.
Schrodinger has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Refn is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Erwin Schrodinger. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Schrodinger misses with a hook from the clinch.
Schrodinger has Refn pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Refn manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Schrodinger takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Schrodinger defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Refn.

Refn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Schrodinger clobbers Refn with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Schrodinger connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

and Schrodinger counters with a low kick, right behind Refn 's knee.
Nicolas Refn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Schrodinger circles away from the clinch attempt.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Schrodinger wants to control but Refn is keeping him busy.

Refn looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Refn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Schrodinger working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Schrodinger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Schrodinger in particular looking to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Nicolas Refn.

Refn clinches up with Schrodinger and pushes him back against the cage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Refn is trying to push Schrodinger away but Schrodinger has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Schrodinger lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Refn lands with a right to the head.
Refn wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Refn dives in and grabs Schrodinger's left leg, looking for a takedown. Schrodinger pushes down on Refn's head and hops out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Refn is defended easily by Schrodinger.

Schrodinger tries to keep at a distance but Refn has taken the fight into the clinch.

Refn tries to stall but Schrodinger uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Refn is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Schrodinger has denied him.

Schrodinger tries to work over Refn's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Refn tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Refn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Refn closes the distance and pushes Schrodinger back into the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Schrodinger has a couple of punches blocked by Refn.

Schrodinger tries for a takedown but Refn manages to get underhooks.
Schrodinger keeps control of Refn as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Schrodinger is trying to trip Refn. He has hold of a leg but Refn is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Schrodinger persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Schrodinger wants to control from the top but Refn keeps moving.
Schrodinger is really struggling to control Refn but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Schrodinger loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Schrodinger is working Refn over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Refn lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Schrodinger!

Refn looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Refn seems to be looking for submissions.
Schrodinger slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Refn trying to control but Schrodinger is working from the bottom.
Erwin Schrodinger overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Refn is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Schrodinger working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Refn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Schrodinger is tightening it up a little... Refn has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Refn reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Refn taps out! Nice BJJ there by Schrodinger!
