PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Big Al (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emanuel Nostier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Big Al!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Emanuel Nostier!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nostier manages to avoid it.
Al doesn't manage to clinch there - Nostier circles away.
Nostier cracks Al with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Nostier drops his shoulder and cracks Al with a huge uppercut! Al goes down! Can Nostier finish him?


Al is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Al looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nostier is one step ahead there.
Nostier really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Al. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Al has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nostier can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Nostier wants to stand but Al is controlling his posture from full guard.
Al seems keen to control Nostier's posture.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Al looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Nostier trying to control but Al is working from the bottom.

Al working for a triangle but Nostier defends it easily.
Nostier wants to stand but Al is controlling his posture from full guard.
Nostier won't allow Al to get back to his feet.
Nostier tries to stand but Al is controlling from the bottom.

Nostier trying to control the position from guard on top but Al is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Al is on top in guard.
Al sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Al trying to control but Nostier is working from the bottom.
Al is stalling in the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Al on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Nostier stuffs the takedown.
The fighters circling - Nostier throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Left hook, right uppercut from Nostier.
Nice defenses there by Al.
Nostier slips a jab and a cross from Al.
Nostier just misses with a punch to the body.
Al keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nostier lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Al at a distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nostier throws a big shot that misses.

Nostier catches Al napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Al to the canvas!
Oh Al is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nostier sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Al manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nostier manages to get himself to full guard.
Al seems to have got his legs back now.
Al controlling from the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Emanuel Nostier dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Al misses with a body shot.
Al keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Nostier.
Al avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nostier throws the left hand but Al avoids the punch easily.
Nostier misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nostier is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Al.
Nostier throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Al takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Nostier tries to bum rush Al with a series of wild strikes but Al uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Al tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Al ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jab, jab by Nostier - just one landing.
Nostier throws a lazy uppercut

and Al counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Nostier being controlled here, momentarily.
Al lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Nostier is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Al postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Al is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Al is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Al's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Al forces his way into half guard.

Al is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Al is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Al slows the pace down in half guard.

Al is trying to work for a kimura but Nostier is defending well.
Al is controlling the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Al thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nostier's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Al is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nostier is just riding it out for now. Al eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Big Al dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Al tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nostier was well out of range. Poor timing from Al.
Al slips a jab from Nostier.
Nostier takes a swing at Al's ribcage but misses.
Nostier throws out a loose jab but Al uses good head movement to avoid it.
Nostier throws the left hand but Al avoids the punch easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nostier looks to land a left hand but Al moved out of range nicely.
Al steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Nostier.
Nostier throws a lazy uppercut

and Al counters with a single leg into guard. Nostier didn't expect that.
Al is pushing down on Nostier's leg trying to pass to half guard. Nostier is fighting to maintain full guard but Al has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Al wants to take a breather but Nostier is having none of it.
Big Al overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Al uses his free foot to push down on Nostier's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Nostier.
Al lands a big elbow.
Nostier takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Al looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Al wants to finish this one by submission but Nostier is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Al.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Al landing strikes from the mount and Nostier is in trouble!

Al is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Nostier can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Al landing punches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Al with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Nostier is bucking up trying to escape but Al cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
A nice elbow there by Al.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee warns Nostier that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Al working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Nostier turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Al off and cradles Nostier's limp body as Al celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Big Al!
