The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Roberts and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nibar scores with a decent looking hook.
Nibar throws a jab when Torres was well out of range.

Torres shoots in and bounces Nibar off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Torres wants to control from the top but Nibar keeps moving.
Torres pushes down on Nibar's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Nibar wants to get back to full guard but Torres has mounted him!
Nibar wants to control but Torres is having none of it.
Torres controlling the pace for now.

Torres has hold of Nibar's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Nibar manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Torres goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Nibar is on top in guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Torres throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nibar was covering up waiting for the punch and Torres finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Nibar is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Torres wants to control from the top but Nibar keeps moving.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Torres decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nibar, up you get!
The fighters circling - Nibar throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Torres fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Nibar to the ground. Torres is now in Nibar's guard.

The crowd cheers as Nibar lands an impressive looking overhand right. Torres doesn't seem phased though.

Torres is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nibar's half guard.

Nibar is not content to let Torres control the position.

Torres throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Torres is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nibar defends it well.
Nibar has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Torres is working away from the top position though.

Torres is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nibar sees it coming and defends easily.

Torres wants to control but Nibar is keeping him busy.

Torres goes for an armbar but Nibar turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Nibar.

Jose Torres showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Nibar misses with a hook

and Torres holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Torres has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Nibar regains guard immediately.

Torres lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Torres wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nibar keeps working.
Nibar is looking for a sweep. Torres is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Torres is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Torres is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Nibar has managed to free his arm - good work.

Torres stands up and beckons Nibar to join him on the feet.

and Nibar counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Torres thinking.

Torres gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Torres tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Torres pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Torres feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Torres takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nibar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Nibar avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Torres.

Nibar uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Torres.
A jab lands there for Nibar.
Nibar attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Torres throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Torres closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nibar circles away.
Nibar stalks Torres and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Torres's face. Torres staggers backwards, shaken.
Gleison Nibar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

It looks like Jose Torres has been cut.

Torres bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
