PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kirk Lazarus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinnie Sinistra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lazarus comes to the cage accompanied by Last Resort. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kirk Lazarus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vinnie Sinistra!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lazarus stuffs the takedown attempt from Sinistra. Sinistra gets slowly back to his feet.

Sinistra gets tackled into the cage by Lazarus. Lazarus maintains the clinch.

Lazarus has Sinistra pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Lazarus pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Sinistra tumbling to the mat - Lazarus dives into Sinistra's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Sinistra is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lazarus is just riding it out for now. Sinistra eventually gives up the hold.

Sinistra is looking for a kimura but Lazarus is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sinistra to get the leverage.

Sinistra is working for a kimura here but Lazarus manages to reverse the position and he's now in Sinistra's guard.

Lazarus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sinistra has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lazarus has managed to get both his arms back between Sinistra's legs - danger averted.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Kirk Lazarus will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Lazarus breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Sinistra closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lazarus did well to prevent Sinistra getting side control.

Sinistra is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lazarus defends it well.

Sinistra is looking to take a break and control but Lazarus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sinistra goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Lazarus rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Sinistra's guard! Nice work there by Lazarus!
Sinistra has momentary wrist control but Lazarus slips an elbow through the middle.

Kirk Lazarus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lazarus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sinistra swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sinistra tries to roll over but Lazarus keeps him under control.

Lazarus looks up at the clock and then as Sinistra takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lazarus smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Lazarus scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Sinistra is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Lazarus can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
