Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chad Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Richman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Richman is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chad Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Richman!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Richman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Jones is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Jones drops back looking for a leg! Richman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Richman manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Richman's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Richman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Richman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jones would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Jones drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Richman manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jones has Richman in his guard.
Richman throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jones uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Richman throws a good cross that connects.
Jones blocks a head kick by Richman.
Sloppy strikes from Richman. Those never looked like landing.

Richman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Richman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jones looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Jones goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Richman rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Jones's guard! Nice work there by Richman!
Jones wants to get back to his feet but Richman is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Jones wriggles free and stands up.
Jones moves out of range as Richman strikes.
Richman stalks Jones and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jones's face. Jones staggers backwards, shaken.
Mike Richman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Richman fails to land with a series of punches.
Jones shoots in but no luck this time.
Jones clinches with his opponent.
Jones is pressed up against the cage. Richman has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jones down to the mat. Jones avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.
Richman misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mike Richman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Richman moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chad Jones dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A nice combination there by Jones.
Jones misses with a jab, cross combination.
Richman scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jones in his tracks.
Richman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Donk. Richman catches Jones right on the button with a cross.
The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A head kick lands from Richman that sends Jones to the canvas. Jones tries to scramble back to his feet but Richman brings him back down into side control.
Jones is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Richman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Oh Jones is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jones manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Jones is just content to waste time from the top position. Richman takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Jones postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Richman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jones, into his guard.

Richman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jones haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Jones drops back, looking for a kneebar! Richman looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Richman looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Richman!
Jones tries to buck Richman off but Richman is having none of it.
Jones pushes Richman away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Richman gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Jones sneaks out the side door and pushes Richman away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Richman sizes up Jones with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Jones has managed to clinch.

Richman lands with a big right hook that stumbles Jones - he's out on his feet here! Richman follows up with another monster hook that separates Jones from consciousness! Jones falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Richman stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
