PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Methuselah Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Loco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Couture might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to wait, nvmnd! thats just the tapping of his cane as he walks.. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture tries for a takedown but Loco circles away easily
and Loco counters with a slapping leg kick.
Loco feints and then cracks Couture's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Couture down.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Couture, as that shot connected.

Couture gets the takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Couture lands some shots froms side control.
Loco is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Couture asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Couture working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Couture looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Loco is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Couture throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Couture is stalling here. Loco is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Couture seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Loco has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Couture shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Loco but Loco pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Couture wants to land a leg kick but Loco is out of range.

A solid leg kick lands there for Couture.
Couture tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Loco paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Couture manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Loco on his heels. He'll look to pass Loco's guard now, I'm sure.

Couture has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Loco finds it's way round the side to connect with Couture's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Couture is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Loco's half guard.
Couture is nestled in close to Loco, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Loco wants to get back to his feet.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Couture throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Loco has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Couture is working away from the top position though.

Couture is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Loco is just riding it out for now. Couture eventually gives up the hold.

Methuselah Couture overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Couture will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Methuselah Couture just wasn't active enough.
