PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Orlandu Cidolfas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and apoc twokayfour (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cidolfas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Cidolfas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

twokayfour is defending against the submission attempts here by Cidolfas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cidolfas is breathing heavily.
twokayfour is trying to stand up here but Cidolfas is controlling him well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Cidolfas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Cidolfas darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Cidolfas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Cidolfas is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Cidolfas is looking for a kimura but twokayfour is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cidolfas to get the leverage.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cidolfas is pressing down on twokayfour's thigh, looking to free his foot. twokayfour is holding on for now.

twokayfour throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Cidolfas shoots in looking for a takedown. twokayfour tries to sprawl out of it but Cidolfas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. twokayfour manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Orlandu Cidolfas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cidolfas shoots for a double leg takedown but twokayfour sprawls well. He's pushed Cidolfas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Cidolfas is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but twokayfour is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Cidolfas wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by twokayfour, who protects the arm well.

twokayfour tries to bench press Cidolfas off him but Cidolfas keeps the position.

Cidolfas thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
twokayfour wants to get back to his feet but Cidolfas drags him back down.

Cidolfas is working to tighten is grip on twokayfour's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. twokayfour has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Cidolfas is really squeezing tight and eventually twokayfour passes out! Cidolfas breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
