Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Calaway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnnie Rico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calaway comes to the cage accompanied by R.I.P.. Rico has chosen Stricken by Disturbed as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rico tries to bum rush Calaway with a series of wild strikes but Calaway uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Calaway tries to close the distance and clinch but Rico swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A jab from Calaway misses.
Rico scores with a decent looking hook.
Calaway misses with a series of wild punches.
Calaway's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Calaway duly obliges.
Calaway throws a shot to the body.
Rico takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Calaway doesn't manage to clinch there - Rico circles away.
Calaway lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Rico backs up against the cage.
Calaway looks to score with a jab to the body but Rico is just out of range.
Rico tests Calaway's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Calaway scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Rico throws a series of punches but Calaway avoids them all with ease.
Rico connects with a good right hand that stumbles Calaway. Calaway circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

That has opened up Johnnie Rico's cut even more.
Rico connects with a body shot that sends Calaway's belly button to the back.
Calaway lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Rico throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Calaway has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Calaway there as he acknowledges the shot.
Rico scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Calaway uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rico has time to react.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Rico wants to break the clinch but can't.

Rico pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rico takes a swing at Calaway's ribcage but misses.
A right-left combo lands from Rico.
Calaway throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Johnnie Rico seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Calaway walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Rico misses with a looping right.
A looping hook to the body misses from Calaway. Rico does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rico is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Rico throws a nice looking combination but Calaway bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Calaway uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rico.
Rico stalks Calaway and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Calaway's face. Calaway staggers backwards, shaken.
Rico missing with a left hand there. Calaway was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Calaway is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Rico moves out of range as Calaway strikes.
Rico takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Johnnie Rico's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Calaway scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Johnnie Rico's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mark Calaway!
Mark Calaway decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
