Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Clemson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McKenzie is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: metallica hero of the day . I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cody McKenzie!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jonathan Paton and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clemson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Clemson is trying to control the position but McKenzie postures up.
Clemson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because McKenzie is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

McKenzie gets to his feet. Clemson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
McKenzie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Clemson as he avoids it easily.
Clemson has a takedown stuffed.
Clemson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Clemson lands with a kick to the ribs.
Clemson throws a push kick but McKenzie slaps the foot to one side.
McKenzie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Clemson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Nice sprawl there from McKenzie as Clemson shoots in.

McKenzie tries to keep at a distance but Clemson has taken the fight into the clinch.

McKenzie is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Clemson is defending well.
Clemson tries to pull guard but McKenzie holds him up against the cage and eventually Clemson drops back down to his feet.

Clemson successfully pulls guard.
McKenzie trying to stand up but can't free himself from Clemson's guard.
Clemson wants to stand and escape but McKenzie is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Clemson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
McKenzie squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Clemson with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McKenzie trying desperately to get to his feet.

A close round but Cody McKenzie will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Clemson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Clemson just misses with a punch to the body.
Clemson closes the distance and clinches up with McKenzie, looking for a takedown. Clemson pushes McKenzie against the cage but McKenzie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Clemson throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
McKenzie fails to land the takedown.
Clemson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McKenzie tries to avoid it but Clemson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McKenzie to the ground. McKenzie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
McKenzie is looking to clinch but Clemson is avoiding it.

McKenzie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Clemson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. McKenzie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

McKenzie turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

McKenzie has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Clemson tries to clinch up but McKenzie circles away and keeps his distance.
Clemson lands a nice hook to McKenzie's body. McKenzie takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

McKenzie decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Clemson, up you get!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Jon Clemson will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Clemson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Clemson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables McKenzie to keep the fight standing.

McKenzie wants to stand but Clemson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
