Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dick Niaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerd Stenner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stenner has chosen Escapado - Gezeichnet as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dick Niaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gerd Stenner!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jorge Garcia and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Niaz.
Niaz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Niaz stuffs the takedown.
Stenner closes the distance and clinches up with Niaz, looking for a takedown. Stenner pushes Niaz against the cage but Niaz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dick Niaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gerd Stenner.
Stenner fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Stenner swats away the attempt to clinch by Niaz.
Niaz shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Stenner eats them both and turns towards Niaz to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Niaz fails in his attempt to clinch.

Stenner tries to sprawl but Niaz drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Stenner is trying to control but can't.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stenner moves into full guard.
Stenner trying to strike off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stenner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Niaz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Niaz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Niaz tries to free his leg and advance position but Stenner is retaining full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Niaz postures up.
Niaz wants to stand but Stenner is controlling his posture from full guard.
Stenner pulls Niaz in close to prevent any damage.

Niaz is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Stenner has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Niaz is looking to defend but Stenner has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Niaz! Stenner pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Niaz taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Gerd Stenner!
Our winner, Gerd Stenner, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
