Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ari Birmiski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jokke Mela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Birmiski comes to the cage accompanied by I'm Back - T.I. Mela has chosen Da Rockwilder as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ari Birmiski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jokke Mela!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mela throws a body punch but Birmiski moves out of range.
Mela dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Birmiski doesn't manage to clinch there - Mela circles away.
Birmiski shoots in and drives through. Mela sprawls well.
Ari Birmiski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mela working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Birmiski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Birmiski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Birmiski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mela swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ari Birmiski will probably get the nod.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Birmiski connects with a nice short shot to Mela's temple.

Birmiski drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mela looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mela looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mela!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mela tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mela has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mela throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Birmiski's waist but Birmiski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mela off to one side.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mela.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Birmiski, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
