The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meridius lands a high kick!

Meridius fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Martin manages to avoid it.

Meridius ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Martin moves away.
Meridius throws a push kick but Martin slaps the foot to one side.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Meridius.
Meridius lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Martin is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Meridius throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Martin tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Meridius's elbow.

Martin bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Meridius on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Martin swings for the body but Meridius moves out of range.
Meridius throws a wild body kick that Martin sees coming a mile off.
Meridius cracks the inside of Martin's front leg.
Martin misses with a few strikes there.
Martin checks a low kick from Meridius.
Martin takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Martin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Martin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Meridius takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Meridius misses with a low kick.
Martin is looking to clinch but Meridius is avoiding it.
Meridius throws a head kick that misses.

Martin forces Meridius back against the cage and clinches.

Martin is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Meridius manages to break the clinch.

Meridius walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Martin drives through and clinches with Meridius against the cage.
Oh Meridius is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Martin digs a right hand into Meridius's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Meridius's gas tank.
Meridius has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Martin dips a shoulder and cracks Meridius with a mighty uppercut! Meridius falls back against the cage and Martin unloads with a barrage of strikes! Meridius is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Martin screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
