The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Valentine shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Raisi manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Raisi has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Valentine is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Raisi.

Valentine tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Valentine has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Nice uppercut lands for Raisi. That snapped Valentine's head back.
Raisi bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Raisi takes the fight into the clinch.

Raisi jumps guard and drags Valentine to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Valentine has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Raisi to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Valentine is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Raisi pulls down on the head and he's put Valentine to sleep! This one is all over!
