The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jakovlev throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Thapa slips a straight right by Jakovlev.
Jakovlev throws a right and a left that Thapa avoids nicely.

Jakovlev closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Thapa's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Thapa keeping moving, preventing Jakovlev from controlling successfully.
Thapa preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Thapa not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jakovlev drops back looking for a leg! Thapa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Thapa manages to kick Jakovlev off! Jakovlev jumps back into Thapa's guard.

Thapa is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jakovlev has managed to free his arm - good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thapa throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Jakovlev to regain full guard.

Jakovlev is looking to sweep but instead, Thapa has passed into half guard.
Thapa trying to pass the guard but Jakovlev defending well.
Jakovlev has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Thapa is working away from the top position though.

Jakovlev is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Thapa's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Thapa's back!

Jakovlev has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Thapa has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Jakovlev is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Thapa defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Jakovlev lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Jakovlev.

You can see the frustration on Thapa's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Jakovlev is loading up with his shots from the back and Thapa is in big trouble! Thapa taps out to strikes and the fight is over!
